Chief Master Sergeant GEOFFREY R. DOOLEY

Chief Master Sgt. Geoff Dooley serves as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the 224th Air Defense Group, Eastern Air Defense Sector (EADS), Rome, New York. In this role, he is the principal advisor to the Group Commander on all matters concerning the readiness, professional development, and well-being of the enlisted force. Charged with cultivating a culture of ownership and mission excellence, Chief Master Sgt. Dooley leads, develops, and inspires a team of Airmen supporting EADS’s critical homeland defense mission. Through strategic mentorship and deliberate engagement, he drives initiatives that strengthen warfighting capabilities, reinforce enlisted leadership, and empower Airmen to lead with integrity and purpose.

Prior to his current assignment, Chief Master Sgt. Dooley served as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the Force Support Squadron within the 174th Mission Support Group at Hancock Field Air National Guard Base, Syracuse, New York. In this capacity, he provided leadership and guidance to the Force Support Squadron of the 174th Attack Wing, overseeing daily operations related to personnel management, base services, and morale programs. His efforts were instrumental in maintaining combat readiness, supporting contingency operations, and enhancing quality of life for all personnel. In 2020, he was selected as the Munitions Flight Chief for the 174th Attack Wing, where he led a dramatic increase in staffing levels from 42% to 128%, significantly improving unit readiness. He also served as the New York Air National Guard’s Strength Management Program Manager, directing recruitment and retention efforts across five Air National Guard Wings, and held a part-time role as the New York State Strength Management Program Manager from January through September 2024.

Chief Master Sgt. Dooley enlisted in the United States Air Force in April 2005, specializing in Munitions. He has held various roles within the Munitions Flight, including Production, Materiel, and Systems Sections, and became the Munitions Materiel and Systems Section Chief in 2012. In 2013, he served as First Sergeant of the 142nd Medical Group. From 2016 to 2020, he held key positions at the National Guard Bureau, including Protocol Specialist for the Director of the Air National Guard, Armament Branch Superintendent, and First Sergeant. During this stat tour, he contributed to strategic workforce planning, policy implementation, and coordination with national and state leadership to enhance Air National Guard readiness and retention. His career includes deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and multiple temporary duty assignments for homeland defense and State Active Duty, reflecting a steadfast commitment to service, leadership, and the advancement of personnel readiness and organizational excellence.
