Seven Promoted at EADS

Maj. Gen. Anthony P. German, the Adjutant General for the State of New York, announces the recent promotion of seven members of the New York Air National Guard's 224th Air Defense Group (ADG) in recognition of their capability for additional responsibility and leadership.

The 224th ADG, composed of the 224th Air Defense Squadron and 224th Support Squadron, provides the forces to conduct the Eastern Air Defense Sector's (EADS) mission. Part of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), the Sector is responsible for the air defense of the eastern U.S.

Promoted Airmen are:

.               Gary Julian, Utica, to the rank of Technical Sergeant. Julian is an Identificatoin Technician at the 224th Air Defense Squadron.

.               Ray Shively, Rome, to the rank of Technical Sergeant. Shively is a Tracking Technician at the 224th Air Defense Squadron.

.               Michael Sweezey, Whitesboro, to the rank of Technical Sergeant. Sweezey is a Security Forces Craftsman in the 224th Support Squadron.

.               Nicholas Spine, Rome, to the rank of Staff Sergeant. Spine is a Cyber Systems Journeyman at the 224th Support Squadron.

.               Damien Buchwald, Rome, to the rank of Staff Sergeant. Buchwald is an Instructor Tracking Technician in the 224th Air Defense Squadron.

.               Laura Patnode, Rome, to the rank of Senior Airman. Patnode is a Security Forces Journeyman with the 224th Support Squadron.

.               Thomas Schweizer, Rome, to the rank of Senior Airman. Schweizer is a Cyber Systems Journeyman with the 224th Support Squadron.
